Just then [some men] brought to Him a paralytic lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven.
“Because you [have] so little faith, He answered “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”</span>
“Truly I tell you, Jesus replied “if you have faith and {do} not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, it will happen.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay tithes of mint, dill, and cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier [matters] of the law:justice,mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
[When] [Jesus] heard [this], [He] marveled at [the centurion]. Turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.
“Where is your faith? He asked Frightened [and] amazed, they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!
And the Lord answered, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea, and it will obey you.
By faith in [the] name of Jesus, this [man] whom you see and know has been made strong. [It is Jesus’] name and the faith that [comes] through Him [that] has given him this complete healing in your presence
[This] proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and [of the] HolySpirit, as well as Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert [to Judaism].
[So] the word of God continued to spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem grew rapidly, and a great number of priests became obedient to the faith.
strengthening the souls of the disciples [and] encouraging [them] to continue in the faith. “We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God, [they said].
[When] they arrived, they gathered the church {together} [and] reported all that God had done through them, and how He had opened [the] door of faith to the Gentiles.
For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof [of this] to everyone by raising Him from [the] dead.
After several days, Felix returned with [his] wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess. He sent for Paul and listened to him [speak] about faith in Christ Jesus.
to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, [that] they may receive forgiveness of sins and [an] inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.
Through [Him] [and] on behalf of His name, we received grace and apostleship to call all [those] among the Gentiles [to the] obedience that comes from faith.
God presented [Him] [as an] atoning sacrifice in His blood through faith, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in [His] forbearance [He] had passed over the sins committed beforehand.
[Is] this blessing [only] on the circumcised, or also on the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited [to him] as righteousness.
And he received [the] sign of circumcision [as] a seal of the righteousness that [he had] by faith [while] [he was still] uncircumcised. So then, he is [the] father of all who believe [but] are not circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.
And [he is also the] father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised, but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith [that] our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
Therefore, [the promise comes] by faith, so that [it] may rest on grace [and] may be guaranteed to all [Abraham’s] offspring — not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of [the] faith of Abraham. [He] is [the] father of us all.
Without weakening in [his] faith, he acknowledged the decrepitness of his body (since he was about a hundred years old) and the lifelessness of Sarah’s womb.
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to [the] measure of faith God has given [you].
but now revealed [and] made known through the writings of the prophets by [the] command of the eternal God, in order to lead all nations to the obedience [that comes from] faith
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Neither do we boast beyond our limits in [the] labors of others. But we hope that [as] your faith increases, our area of influence among you will greatly increase [ as well ]
Examine yourselves [to see] whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ [is] in you — unless you fail the test?
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The [life] I live in [the] body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
[He redeemed us] in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Nevertheless, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, [I will know] that you stand firm in one spirit, contending together as one for the faith of the gospel,
if indeed you continue in [your] faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, [and] of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
For not only {did} the message of the Lord ring out from you to Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone out to every place, so that we have no need to say anything [more].
For this reason [when] I could bear [it] no longer, I sent to find out about your faith, [for fear that] the tempter {had} somehow tempted you and that our labor might have been in vain.
But just now, Timothy has returned from [ his visit] with the good news about your faith, [your] love, and [the] fond memories you have preserved longing to see us just as we [long to see] you.
We are obligated to thank God for you all the time, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith is growing more and more, and your love for one another is increasing.
To this end we always pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of [His] calling, and [that] He will powerfully fulfill [your] every good desire and work of faith,
But we should always thank God for you, brothers who are loved by [the] Lord, because God chose you from [the] beginning to be saved by [the] sanctification of [the] Spirit and [by] faithin [the] truth.
For [this reason] I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, [and] a faithful and true teacher of [the] Gentiles. I am telling [the] truth; [I am] not lying [ about anything ].
By pointing out these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the wordsof faith and sound instruction that you have followed.
For the love of money is [the] root of all kinds of evil. By craving [it], some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
For we also received the good news just as they [did]; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended [it].
Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ [and] go on to maturity, not laying again [the] foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith in God,
let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, {having} our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and [our] bodies washed with pure water.
By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain [did]. By [faith] he was commended as righteous [when] God gave approval to his gifts. And by [faith] he still speaks, [even though] he is dead.
By faith Enoch was taken up [so that] he did not see death: He could not be found, because God had taken him away For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
And without faith [it is] impossible to please [God]. For anyone who approaches [Him] must believe that He exists and [that] He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in godly fear built an ark to save his family. By [faith] he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness [that] comes by faith.
By faith he dwelt in the promised land as {a stranger} in a foreign [country]. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who [were] heirs with him of the same promise.
By faith Sarah, even though she was barren and beyond the proper age, was enabled to conceive a child, because she considered Him faithful who had promised.
All these [people] died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw [them] and welcomed them from afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
By faith [Moses’] parents hid him for three months after his birth, because they saw [that he was] a beautiful child, and they were unafraid of the king’s edict.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of [our] faith, who for the joy set before Him endured [the] cross, scorning [its] shame, and sat down at [the] right hand of the throne of God.
Listen, my beloved brothers: {Has} not God chosen the poor of this world [to be] rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?
so that the proven character of your faith — more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may result in praise, glory, and honor at [the] revelation of Jesus Christ.
Resist [him], [standing] firm in [your] faith [and] in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.
Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through [the] righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
Beloved, [although] I made every effort to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt it necessary to write [and] urge you to contend earnestly for the faith entrusted once for all to the saints.
I know where you live, where the throne of Satan [sits], yet you hold fast to My name. You did not deny [your] faith in Me, even in the days of My faithful witness Antipas, who was killed among you where Satan dwells.
“If anyone [is destined for] captivity, into captivity he will go; if anyone is to die by [the] sword, by [the] sword he must be killed.” Here is [a call for] the perseverance and faith of the saints.
