Then Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary: “Behold, this [Child] is appointed [to cause] [the] rise and fall of many in Israel, and [to be] a sign that will be spoken against,
But those who are considered worthy to share in the age [to come] and in the resurrection from [the] dead {will} neither marry nor be given in marriage.
Some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also began to debate with him. Some [of them] asked, “What {is} this babbler trying to say? Others [said], “He seems to be advocating foreign gods. [They said this] because [Paul] was proclaiming the good news of Jesus and the resurrection.
Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, [the] son of a Pharisee. [It is] because of [my] hopein the resurrection of [the] dead [that] I am on trial.
unless [it was] this one thing I called out as I stood in their [presence] ‘[It is] concerning [the] resurrection of [the] dead [that] I am on trial before you today.
[and] who through [the] Spirit of holiness was declared with power [to be the] Son of God by [His] resurrection [from the] dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy [He] has given us new birth into a living hope through [the] resurrection of Jesus Christ from [the] dead,
And [this water] symbolizes [the] baptism [that] now saves you {also} — not the removal of dirt from the body, but [the] pledge of a clear conscience toward God — through [the] resurrection of Jesus Christ,
Blessed and holy [are] those who share in the first resurrection! [The] second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
