Jesus told him, “Whoever has already bathed needs only to wash [his] feet, [and] he will be completely clean. And you are clean, though not all [of you].
But [when] they opposed and insulted [him], he shook out [his] garments [and] told them, “Your blood [be] on your [own] heads! I [am] innocent [of it]. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.
To the pure, all things [are] pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing [is] pure. Indeed, both their minds and [their] consciences are defiled.
let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, {having} our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and [our] bodies washed with pure water.
Pure and undefiled religion before [our] God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, [and] to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
[Since] you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers love one another deeply, from a pureheart.
And out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in clean [and] bright linen and girded with golden sashes around [their] chests.
And the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls, [with] each gate consisting of a single pearl. The main street of the city [was] pure gold, as clear as glass.
