and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild [it] in three days, save Yourself! If You are [the] Son of God, come down from the cross!
And wherever He went villages [and] towns [and] countrysides — they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him just to let them touch the fringe of His cloak. And all who touched Him were healed.
The [ seeds ] along the path are those who hear, [but] the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe [and] be saved.
The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at [Him], saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if [He] is the Christ of God, the Chosen [One].”
For if, when we were enemies [of God], we were reconciled to [Him] through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!
For since in the wisdom of God the world through [its] wisdom {did} not know [Him], God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
hindering us from telling the Gentiles how they may be saved. As a result, {they} continue to heap up their sins {to full capacity}; the utmost wrath has come upon them.
Pay close attention to your [life] and to [your] teaching. Persevere in these things, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
[He] has saved us and called [us] to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and [by the] grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began.
During the days of [Jesus’] earthly [life], He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the [One who] could save Him from death, and He was heard because of [His] reverence.
And [this water] symbolizes [the] baptism [that] now saves you {also} — not the removal of dirt from the body, but [the] pledge of a clear conscience toward God — through [the] resurrection of Jesus Christ,
Although you are fully aware of this I want to remind you that after Jesus had delivered [His] people out of [the] land of Egypt, He destroyed those who did not believe.
