The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. [When a] man found [it], he hid [it again], and in [his] joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field.

The [ seeds ] on rocky ground [are] those who hear the word [and] receive it with joy, but [they] have no root. [They] believe for a season, [but] in [the] time of testing, they fall away.
I tell you that in the same way there will be [more] joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent.
The bride belongs to [the] bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom stands and listens for him, [and] is overjoyed [to hear] the bridegroom’s voice. That joy [is] mine, [and] it is now complete.
A woman has pain in childbirth because her time has come; but when she brings forth [her] child, she forgets [her] anguish because of [her] joy that a child has been born into the world.
When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed [that] she forgot to open the gate, but ran inside [and] announced “Peter is standing at the gate!
Sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, recounting the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy to all the brothers.
I wrote as I did so that on my arrival I would not be grieved by [those] who ought {to make} me rejoice. I had confidence in all of you, that you [would share] my joy.
On account of this, we are encouraged. In addition to our own encouragement, we were even more delighted by the joy of Titus. For his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.
You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you yourselves had a better and permanent possession.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of [our] faith, who for the joy set before Him endured [the] cross, scorning [its] shame, and sat down at [the] right hand of the throne of God.
No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness [and] peace to those who have been trained by it.
Obey your leaders and submit [to them], for they watch over your souls as those who must give an account. To this end, allow them [to lead] with joy and not [with] grief, for that [would be] of no advantage to you.
[Though] you have not seen [Him], you love [Him]; [and though] you do not see [Him] now, you believe in [Him] and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
I have many things to write to you, [but] I would prefer not [to do so] with paper and ink. Instead, I hope to come and speak with you [face] to [face], so that our joy may be complete.
