Woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint, rue, and every herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced [the latter] without neglecting [the former].
If your brother is distressed by [what you eat], you are no longer acting in love. {Do} not by [your eating] destroy your [brother], for whom Christ died.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Love never fails. But where [there are] prophecies, they will cease; where [there are] tongues, they will be restrained; where [there is] knowledge, it will be dismissed.
Finally, brothers, rejoice! Aim for perfect harmony, encourage one another, [be of] one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
From [Him] the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows [and] builds itself up in love through [the] work of each individual part.
that they may be encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and filled with [the] full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the mystery of God, [namely] Christ,
But just now, Timothy has returned from [ his visit] with the good news about your faith, [your] love, and [the] fond memories you have preserved longing to see us just as we [long to see] you.
We are obligated to thank God for you all the time, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith is growing more and more, and your love for one another is increasing.
For God [is] not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to [do so].
Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And [that is what] we are! The reason the world does not know us [is] that it did not know Him.
And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the very commandment you have heard from [the] beginning, that you must walk in [love].
These [men] are hidden reefs in your love feasts, shamelessly feasting [with you] [but] shepherding [only] themselves. [They are] clouds without water, carried along by [the] wind; fruitless trees in autumn, twice dead after being uprooted.
